News coverage of the PIP breast implants has lessened these days, but that does not mean the issues faced by women with these faulty implants are over. In fact, for these PIP women the hard times are just beginning.
Faced with the reality that the government is reluctant to renounce the PIP breast implants and fully help women still sporting the leaky boobs, many PIP women are taking the matters into their own hands and embarking on a grassroots mission to try and change the minds of the public, cosmetic professionals and hopefully the government.
Once such group standing in solidarity and determined to take the breast implant issue to the next level is the Official PIP Campaign UK Group found exclusively on Facebook. It consists of about 100 women ready to join one of its make ‘task force’ teams all in effort to make an actionable difference in the lives of PIP women all across the UK. A majority of the members still have PIP breast implants and small portion devoted to making sure that the issues PIP women face are not forgotten and that every woman has had her PIPs removed.
Through social media efforts, press-releases, letters to the government and even by old-fashioned in-person campaigning, the Official PIP Campaign UK group vows to work as long as it takes until the government accepts that blame for allowing such devastation to occur within the cosmetic surgery industry.
Current issues the group is following include:
- Clinics closing their doors and then reopening under different names to avoid dealing with PIP requests
- How letters to MPs are being ignored
- The difficulties faced by PIP women trying to file legal claims.
If you’d like to know more about this PIP group, sign into Facebook and visit their page. Currently the page is set at a closed group, but welcome PIP women who are ready to campaign and help make a difference.
