Pigmented patches of skin or age spots by most people are a combination of ageing, sun-exposure, smoking etc which can lead to formation of pigmented spots which can be particularly prominent on face and hands. Age spots are very common among the over 40 age group, although these spots at are not welcome with most people they are expected as one gets older. However these spots can be treated and eventually will disappear, liquid nitrogen cryotherapy can fade these spots but can leave white patches and scars where pigment has been removed completely. This can be particularly prominent in darker skin types.
