laser or IPL (intense pulsed light) treatments have focused on trying to improve non-ablative light sources that do not harm the surface of the skin, but still can improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles on the face or other body parts. This treatment is called photo rejuvenation, due to the fact that this technology is relatively new the results may not be as dramatic as some of the more extreme procedures.
There are many different types of laser, IPL/LHE and LED system available on the market. Each machine is different with the quality and benefits ranging. In general, most of these systems can reduce the appearance of some pigmented changes and small thread veins on the face. Claims for improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, tightening of the skin, or treatment of acne scars should be treated cautiously.
