It’s a downsize to getting older - fatty areas develop that we just can’t remove even with copious amounts of exercise and laying off the chocolate!! Liposculpture is a procedure used to get rid of this fat, it is very similar to liposuction just more advanced. An anaesthetic solution is given to numb the area then a blood staunching solution, this stops the blood flow in that area. This causes the fat to swell up and the fat cells become weak. • A needle is then used to remove both the superficial and deep fat. Deep fat can’t be removed by the more traditional liposuction treatment. • Lymph drainage is recommended before liposculpture this activates fluid circulation. The entire procedure can take up to 3 hours. • After liposculpture you are required to wear a compression garment for 3 weeks, this aids the contraction of the skin evenly over the new body contour, helping you to achieve your desired body shape. Bruising may occur and you may feel fatigue especially if large amounts of fat have been removed, it is however essential that you carry on with your normal day to day activities as this helps the healing process.
