Details about Lower face lift

A very obvious sign of ageing is the appearance of a double chin, this forms as the skin of the face slackens and begins to droop. A lower facelift is designed to eliminate unwanted skin and smooth out the bottom third of your face. • The excess flesh under your chin is removed and the corners of the mouth are raised. • To begin the lower face lift a local anaesthetic is applied, sometimes a general anaesthetic will be given but a local is generally sufficient. Small incisions are then made in the skin often beginning in front of the ear. • The skin is carefully retracted from the tissue and excess fat is removed. The facial muscles are then tightened and any excess skin is then completely removed. This helps return the face to a more youthful appearance. • Sometimes a lower face lift is performed endoscopically, this is done by inserting cameras into the face through the small incisions, less incisions are required if the procedure is performed this way.
