Details about Lumineers

Lumineers are the painless alternative to veneers as no tooth preparation is required in advance, therefore no anaesthetic is required. Lumineers and veneers can be applied to the teeth to cover up discoloured teeth due to staining and ageing and worn down teeth. • They allow you to rediscover your beautiful, sparkling, white smile. Lumineers are made from a special type of porcelain which is only 2mm thick. • They are applied easily to the surface of your existing teeth without the need for removal of any of the surface of your teeth. As no tooth surface is removed lumineers are reversible if you are not happy with the finished result, this is different for veneers where a large amount of the tooth is removed prior to fitting. • On the first visit, the dentist will make an exact mould of your teeth and an appropriate shade will be chosen. • The mould is then sent to a dental laboratory which specialises in making Lumineers, here your Lumineers will be personally made. On your second visit to the dentist your lumineers can be fitted giving you back a beautiful smile. Lumineers can last for up to 20 years once fitted correctly.
