As we age our skin becomes looser and wrinkles develop. MiXto is a treatment used to help remove these wrinkles and tighten the skin. • MiXto stimulates the production of new collagen and causes damaged skin to shrink. MiXto is a laser treatment that can cause a variety of results. • Firstly it can cause immediate tightening of the skin due to contraction of the collagen fibres, this reduces the appearance of loose skin and wrinkles. • Secondly it can remove unwanted pigmentations in the skin. It can also help to reduce pore size and remove scars, altogether producing a more youthful appearance. • MiXto uses a combination of carbon dioxide and light to improve the surface of the skin. When the carbon dioxide and light come into contact with the epidermis, the upper layer of the skin, it is heated up and the superficial layers of the skin are removed and the surface is smoothed out. Immediately after treatment the skin will appear red and swollen due to an increased blood flow, but this will quickly fade and then you can expect to see improvements in your skin for up to a year as new collagen is formed.
