Details about Neck bands

Neck bands are a visible sign of ageing that can start to form from when you are in your forties. The changes are due to drooping of the platysma muscle, the muscle in front of the neck, they cause the shape of the neck to become distorted. To begin with the bands form at the midline of the neck underneath the chin and become more obvious as the ageing process continues. The procedure requires a local anaesthetic to numb the area then a small incision is made under the chin. The neck bands are then reduced and the area sewn up. A small scar may form but this will be hidden under the chin. It is very popular to opt for other age reducing treatments at the same time to help improve the results and give you a more youthful appearance, such as neck liposuction. As the treatment is simple and only involves a local anaesthetic you can return to normal activities within a few days.
