Details about Nipple surgery

Women may experience inverted or enlarged nipples. Many people who have either enlarged or inverted nipples are not happy with them and can find them embarrassing, nipple surgery could be the answer. Sometimes nipples become inverted as a result of breast feeding, other times they may be natural. • Nipple correction surgery is a simple procedure which is carried out under a local anaesthetic in most cases, so you should be able to go home the same day. • To correct an inverted nipple, the nipple will be totally removed from the breast then stitched into a new projecting position, this method should also preserve the milk duct. • After the surgery your nipples will be sore and slightly swollen for a few days. Unfortunately the procedure can’t guarantee that you will be able to breastfeed, so if this is important to you, you may wish to postpone surgery until later in life. You can expect to pay about £2000 to treat your inverted nipples on both breasts.
