Perfect for the summer months when legs are on show! Regular hair removal can be seen as a pain, so women may look for a more permanent alternative to shaving and waxing. The photoderm laser can even be used to as a permanent hair removal option! The procedure is simple, a gel is applied to the area then the quartz crystal head is placed over the gel and beams of light are fired into the skin. The light travels down the hair follicle to the bulb, where the hair grows from, the heat then destroys the bulb. The photoderm laser is not really painful it is described as hot rubber bands snapping on the skin, if required a topical anaesthetic can be applied. Hair is susceptible to the laser at different stages in its growth therefore several treatments, an average 3 roughly 8 weeks apart, will be required for total clearance of an area. After the treatment you will see the hair gradually fall out. Top up treatments may be required every 6 months as some hair may still grow. The laser only targets dark hair as pigment must be present. Once again the photoderm laser should only be used for hair removal on pale skinned individuals.
