Rosacea, which is a chronic inflammatory disease like acne, liver spots and thread veins visible on the face and body can all be removed with the photoderm laser. Each of the listed conditions can be embarrassing and can lower self confidence, so a treatment with the photoderm laser could be the solution to try and restore that self confidence. The photoderm laser emits a brief flash of light onto the skin. The light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the blood vessels which are then destroyed by the heat energy. After treatment the skin will initially look worse but within 2 to 14 days the skin will improve. Dependent on each individuals skin condition more than one treatment may be required to achieve the desired result, for example on the first treatment around 50 per cent of the blood vessels are usually destroyed. The treatment, as with many laser treatments works best on pale skinned individuals as it can cause skin discolouration, so is not really recommended for those with darker or tanned skin.
