Wrinkles on the face particuarly around the eyes and mouth are a sign of ageing. Many women and men reach to sub botox for dermal filler treatments to try and reduce some of the wrinkles and maintain a more youthful look. Purtox is a cheaper alternative to Botox that produces the same results. Purtox is a purified form of Botox and will compete directly with it when it is approved. Purtox blocks the nerve signals that cause the muscles to contract, it is the continuous contraction of these muscles which causes wrinkles to form. • It is claimed that Purtox can treat a wider area of wrinkles than Botox and therefore less injections will be required to achieve the same result, however the clinical trials have still to prove this. • Purtox is a temporary removal of wrinkles as the nerve signals are only stopped temporarily therefore top up injections will be required to maintain the younger look, how regularly these top up injections will be required is not yet known. Immediately after treatment the area will appear slightly red and swollen but this will quickly fade.
