Stretch marks are a frequent sign that you have given birth or lost a substantial amount of weight. Most people see them as unsightly and some people will go to great depths to cover them up. Stretch marks are usually found around the breasts, abdomen or thighs. We are not certain, but it is believed that stretch marks are caused by damaged collagen and elastin fibres under the skin. ReLume is said to be used to help minimise your unwanted stretch marks, it can also be used on scars where the pigment, colour has been reduced. Fibre optic light is delivered to the skin, the light rays stimulate melanocytes to produce melanin. Melanin produces the colour in our skin so then the colour is restored. The procedure is painless and is usually carried out on a weekly basis for 6 to 12 weeks to make the stretch mark or scar as invisible as possible. The results may not be immediate it may take time to develop the pigmentation. ReLume works best on new scars and stretch marks and also shallower ones.
