Details about Scar removal

Sometimes when we hurt our skin instead of healing fully it heals as a scar, this is fibrous tissue which is harder, it can be due to excess growth, in which case it occurs raised above the level of the skin. Scars can be unsightly and annoying depending on where they are placed on the body, some scars may bring back memories of an accident, so many people are often eager to look for ways to remove their scars. Scars can be partially removed, up to 80 percent, by laser treatments. This makes the scar much less obvious. Laser treatment can vaporize or remove a layer of skin and expose a more natural-looking skin layer, or target lower layers of the skin, and stimulate new collagen growth. The procedure of laser scar removal is usually carried out under local anaesthetic. There are also creams available to try and reduce the appearance of scars one example is Scar Repairex. This cream, which contains silicone, can penetrate the scar during the re-modelling stage of healing, which can last up to 2 years following the initial trauma. As well as reducing the appearance of scars caused as a result of trauma it also acts on acne scars.
