Okay so heres the background the nose is separated into two nasal cavities by a piece of cartlidge. Sometimes the septum is displaced to one side this can cause that side of the nose to become blocked. Afterwards, the cut is closed using stitches. The operation usually takes 30 to 45 minutes. Following surgery you may have splints up your nose to protect the septum for a few days. Very rarely a septoplasty can result in your nose changing shape, in this case you will require further surgery.
