    Procedure: PIP breast implants
Date of Review: 15 May 2012
  • i had pips in dec 2006 by HMG with DR Adamo. Experienced and noticed a different feeling last year sept 20011. Could feel bubble feelings in my implants. I had a runny nose for 18th months, it caused a huge crack in my nose and just wouldn't heal. After Christmas i had tingling all down my left side of my body and it freaked me out. I paid to have a private ultra sound with Nuttfield that confirmed i had 2 ruptures. Finally had my replacement surgery with HMG by DR Frati in March. All went very well. I kept my implants, they are shocking!!!!! A huge mess of mush! absolutely in pieces (whats left of them). A few weeks later noticed my left implant wasn't look right, i was sure it had flipped. I saw Dr Frati yesterday (sunday 13th may 2012). I was correct, my new implant had flipped. Wasn't painful at all, just looked and felt odd. Dr Fratie was able to move the implant and flip it back into place by using his hands, i thought it was going to hurt but i can assure you it was painless!. HMG reception staff were awful. Unprofessional, insensitive and careless. This is what i wrote on HMG face book page today.

HMG reception staff were awful yesterday. I have written on there face book page explaining mine and a few other lady's experiences. This is what i wrote:

I had a rather disappointing experience yesterday (sun 13th may). I had to travel from Ipswich to your Harley St clinic for my check up with Dr Frati, it was important as i was 99% sure one of my new breast implants had flipped (i was correct). I had to travel by train with my 2 young boys, it took me 2 hours to get to you. When i turned up (on time) I told a member of your reception team my name and they told me to take a seat. There were quite a few very unhappy and looking miserable women sitting in reception, 8 to be exact. After listening to moans and grumbles i realised that appointments were running way over schedule. I saw other ladies turning up for there appointments being told to take a seat (no warnings or apologies were given to these people turning up explaining they wouldn't be seen for ages). Just told to sit and wait. Two ladies got very angry, 2 walked out and i over heard one lady who was maybe going to book a procedure with you saying she could over hear all the comments being made in the reception area and that she felt nervous and unsure whether to go ahead with HMG based on the fact there was such a negative vibe and only disappointing comments. This lady felt she wouldn't be looked after properly. I would like to say that if your appointments are running extremely late it would be polite and respectful if your reception staff could notify there patients/customers to avoid disappointment. I had to wait an extra 1hour and 20 minutes in total (with my 2 little boys) along with the other ladies. Whilst i respect the fact you are very busy and sometimes appointments can run over schedule PLEASE inform your customers when they arrive. Yesterday was a sham, HMG looked very unprofessional. Some people have to travel very long distances to get to you on time and like myself some have to bring there children. Your staff need to be more warming, caring and respectful. Dr Frati did appologise and sorted my problem out. Its the reception staff that were the problem. They could have prevented a lot of disappointment and anger from some people yesterday purely by communicating.

Considering how much money we/I spent i expect better care from the reception staff. I have had better care from the NHS! I cant deny Dr Frati has been great, but the staff at HMG especially at Harley St are disrespectful and unprofessional. The staff at HMG Watford clinic, i can fault them they were fantastic.
